Sadler-Suess Funeral Home - Father in Law of PFDA Member Michael Schmauder
Richard S. Grasso, 89, of Telford, PA, and formerly of Hatboro, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at The Lutheran Community at Telford. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Maureen “Rene” (Kirby) Grasso who died in 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony R. and Dorothy (Heller) Grasso.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lower Merion High School and attended Drexel University. In his profession as an engineer, he worked at Philco Electronics, Jerrold Electronics, and, later, he was Founder, President and CEO of NCS Industries in Willow Grove, PA, until his retirement in 2001.
Richard served his country and was a retired Veteran of the USNR.
Mr. Grasso was of the Catholic faith. He was a member at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville. In his free time, he enjoyed deep sea fishing on his beloved boat “Rene II”. In his early years, he enjoyed playing tennis. He was an avid reader of the Philadelphia Inquirer. A talented, self-taught musician, from an early age, on the bass guitar, organ and flute, which he played in many bands in the Tri-State area.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Schmauder and her husband Michael, of Quakertown, PA, and Stephanie Moukios and her husband Peter, of Monroe, NJ; a son, Stephen Grasso, of Willow Grove, PA; and six grandchildren, Jillian Avato, Jessica Avato-Albright (Josh), Stephen A. "Drew" Grasso (Cece), Briana DeSantis (Matt), Mason Schmauder (Jenna), and Shane Schmauder; and two great-granddaughters, Jocelyn and Josephine. He is also survived by a brother, Russell Grasso and his wife Lynne, of Downingtown, PA. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Moskowitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. A viewing will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the Luther Rose Chapel at Lutheran Community at Telford, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Benevolent Fund at Lutheran Community at Telford, 12 Lutheran Home Drive, Telford, PA 18969.
