It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Joseph Graziano, a cherished husband, father, brother, son-in-law, uncle, friend and community leader, who departed this life peacefully on October 13, 2026.
Born in Pittston, PA, on September 6, 1950, Charles lived his life with unwavering dedication to others, known for putting their needs above his own, both personally and in his professional role as a funeral director where he offered compassion and solace to countless families in their time of need. His accomplishments extended beyond his profession, marked by an unwavering commitment to his community, family, and the values of love and respect he instilled in those around him.
Charles was a remarkable athlete in his youth, achieving success as part of a Little League team that advanced to the state level. He was a proud member of the Pittston Area Class of 1968, where under the guidance of legendary coach Bob Barbieri, he contributed to the school's first and only undefeated football team. Following high school, Charles continued to excel on the field at Wilkes University under the esteemed Rollie Schmidt, where the team became known as the "Golden Horde," earning recognition for a historic winning streak that remains a point of pride for the university's athletic community. He would always mention how that team was invited for the Heisman dinner at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York City. He graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and Finance, setting the stage for a life committed to service.
In 1973, Charles embraced his family's legacy working alongside of his father by becoming a 3rd generation licensed funeral director and the 10th license is his family after graduating from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City. He devoted over 53 years to funeral service., where he selflessly served the community and supported countless families during their most difficult moments.
"Charles would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude to all the families who have placed their trust in our family's funeral home for over a century. The privilege of serving your families, generation after generation means more than we can ever put into words." The Graziano family has made the funeral home its sole profession since 1900 and it is the families who loyally call on us generation after generation that makes the legacy Charles continued possible.
