We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Experience in embalming is required, experience in crematory operations is preferred. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of preparation and care, ensuring every family is served with the utmost respect.
Responsibilities
- Perform embalming, dressing, casketing, and preparation of the deceased
- Operate and assist in crematory procedures in accordance with regulations and standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the care center and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal requirements
- Assist with transfers and preparation scheduling as needed
- Treat every individual with dignity, professionalism, and compassion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Details
- Reports to: Managing Director
- Job Type: Full-time, Salary
- Schedule: F/T, 8am-5pm, Work ten days every two weeks with every other weekend off.
- Hours: 8AM-5PM with additional hours as needed.
- On Call: Overnight on-call transfers required at least 4 nights/month.
Qualifications
- Pennsylvania Funeral Director licensure (or ability to obtain licensure). Current apprenticeship candidates will be considered.
- Live in Lancaster Co., PA (relocation assistance provided)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse families and cultures
- Experience in a care center and crematory environment preferred
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of embalming, transfers, and other care center work.
